What if it stops during the party?

We wrote this before it happened, because that is when it is useful.

Nothing works all the time. What we can do is tell you, before the day, what to do in each case — and what needs no doing because it sorts itself out.

Practical suggestion: leave this page open in a tab on the phone of whoever is organising. At 11 p.m. nobody goes looking for web pages.

First, what is not a problem

Three things that look like faults and are not.

«The photo took a while and then showed up»

That is normal with the signal in a full room. The photo leaves the phone when it can. There is nothing to do but wait.

«It says I have photos still to send»

All is well: the photos are stored on the phone and go up when signal returns. Keep the page open, or open it again — the queue empties when the page opens and when you come back to it.

«The wall is not showing the photo I just took»

Reload the page. The wall is served from a cache for a few seconds so it can take a hundred people looking at once — your photo lands in the next one.

What to do, case by case

In the order it tends to happen.

  1. A guest cannot open the QR code

Ask them to type the address by hand — it is printed under the code on the card. If their phone will not open the camera in the browser, there is always the option of choosing a photo they already took.

  2. The venue's signal went down for everybody

Tell guests to keep photographing. The photos are stored on the phone and go up when signal returns. What they must not do is close the tab and never open it again.

Mind the deadline: capture closes 48 hours after the opening hour. Photos still sitting on a phone after that do not make it in. Anyone with photos waiting should come back to the page before the deadline — the page itself says how many are left and until when.

  3. The party screen froze or went black

Reload the page on the laptop. The screen is only a view — it stores nothing and does not interfere with what is being sent. If it still misbehaves, turn it off: capture keeps working without it.

  4. A photo appeared that should not be there

In the event panel, remove that photo. If it has happened more than once, turn on the approve before showing switch: from that moment new photos wait until somebody approves them. If it is serious, use the brake: it suspends capture for the whole event at once.

An honest reminder: there is no automatic image checking. This decision belongs to a person, and it has to be somebody at the party with a phone.

  5. The wall will not open, for anybody

Wait a minute and try again — if it was a spike of load, it passes. Check the service status. Then, and this is the important part: tell guests to keep photographing. The photos stay on their phones. A wall that comes back half an hour later recovers everything; a party where people stopped photographing does not come back.

  6. None of this fixed it

Write to us with the event name and the hour it started: support email to be confirmed before publishing. On the studio tiers the route is WhatsApp, which is the only one that works at that hour.

We do not promise a response time in the middle of the night, and we would rather not promise than break a promise on your wedding day. What we do promise is that the photos that already arrived are not lost because of this.

What holds even when something fails

Three things that do not depend on the night going well.

01

A photo that already arrived is not lost

From the moment it leaves the phone and is stored, it stays — and it goes into the event's ZIP, even if it reached the wall late.

02

The guest's phone keeps what has not gone up

No need to retry by hand. The page just has to open again, within the 48 hours.

03

The ZIP and the warnings do not depend on the party

The event's ZIP is requested afterwards, calmly. And we send an email 30 days, 7 days and 1 day before the retention period ends.
